But this is not about sustainability over results but sustainability AND results. No compromises. Getting the diverse and egalitarian collective to deliver better results than the determined hero.

This requires us to harness the power of composition. Getting the mix of 1 and 2 to be more than 3, instead of 1.5. Otherwise, the outlier hero will win the darwinian race.

And perhaps there's only one way to achieve this: kill your heroes (maybe not kill them but send them with their laurels home to enjoy a well deserved rest). Eliminate the possibility to rely on them to force ourselves to grow our collective muscle.

These leaps of consciousness are not new. From the reign of fear chiefs, to the advent of hierarchical structures, to the notion of meritocracy, to the focus on culture and empowerment. Are we at the brink of the next leap?
