When William arrived first at Richfield, he started scouting for opportunities. The biggest establishment in town was a big carpenter shop. He joined the shop after meeting its founder, an industrious old man. Few months later, the old carpenter died and his son took over, but his commitment and charisma was not that of the old man. The shop lost many of its clients and Thomas found himself looking again for fortune one year after his arrival.
Lambert arrived second, on the third day. When he arrived, he saw his brother William had already picked what seemed to be the best option around. He looked for other alternatives and joined a masons workshop that seemed reputable. It was a good choice, the town was growing during those days and the masons benefited from it. Lambert led a prosper career at the shop.
